To inspire and guide each student to their maximum potential.
About Us
This year, we are currently a group of 28 first graders. Our first grade classroom is different than a traditional classroom. Mrs. Simmons developed a model that is part of the TRECA Research and Development Project. This model allows us to all work on our individual learning paths by using programs on our Chromebooks as well as using QR codes and most importantly small group instruction. This allows us all to be working at our own level and continue to grow and be challenged each and every day.
Our Community
My students this year are so loving and caring! We work hard each day to make sure we are working together, thinking about others, and helping us all meet our goals.
Each morning we begin each morning by singing "What I Am" by Will.I.Am from Sesame Street.
We also celebrate our successes from the prior day. We talk about how any amount of progress is WONDERFUL!
The students make goals and get excited when those goals are met.
If you say it enough, they will believe it...and be it!

King's Club
To be in King's Club you have to be able to answer basic facts under 3 seconds on XtraMath.org to move onto the next operation. All students started in addition, then they move onto subtraction, multiplication, and then division.
Christian has mastered addition, subtraction, multiplication AND division! He answered all facts under 3 seconds. Now he is working on an advanced version! You amaze me!
Sydney has been working so hard. I am so proud of her! It was awesome to see the excitement on her face when she "beat XtraMath"! Now she will be working on subtraction!
Delanie has been working so hard! She practices most nights and even on the weekends! Your hard work paid off Delanie. I am super proud of you!!
Alise has mastered addition! She is currently working on subtraction! Woo hoo!
Evie is the newest member to the King's Club! She was super excited! Mrs. Wolfe did the "happy dance" for her! She is working on subtraction now. So proud of you!
Allie did it too!!! The whole class was so excited and proud of her! She received cheers and clapping from her teammates (or classmates)! So proud of you!
Yay, Niaomi!! She is now in the Kings Club as well! I'm so proud of you!!
